The tape recorder does not read files from a USB flash drive
A significant part of modern car radios, in addition to disks, can also read data from a flash drive. In addition, even such radio recorders are available that have connectors only for them. Taking into account the fact that much more music can be recorded on a flash drive compared to discs, such car radios have become in unprecedented demand. Despite their modernity, unfortunately, they are not immune from troubles, one of which is the inability to read data from a flash drive. There are many reasons why this is impossible, and it can be either completely banal, which we did not even notice, or serious, which require repairing the radio or replacing the flash drive.
The problem often lies in the fact that the USB flash drive connected to the device does not provide access to folders, and requires formatting itself. Sometimes this can be solved by removing and reconnecting. But if this does not solve the problem, then you should check its operation on your computer and check for viruses, which most likely do not allow access. If the check doesn't work, format it and re-upload the files. Car radios usually do not read flash drives due to the directional folder properties, so check the settings to see if there is a check mark that allows reading only on a specific computer. In general, check the settings of the flash drive and the folder with audio files.
If you are the owner of one of the first versions of tape recorders that support flash drives, then you should not be surprised if it does not read a flash drive with a capacity of more than 8 GB, since they are not designed for such volumes. The solution to this problem will be to purchase a smaller media.
Often the problem lies with the radio itself, and especially in its USB port. Due to prolonged operation, the integrity of contacts may be disrupted, and this applies even to well-known brands, and there is no need to speak for Chinese assemblies at all. The reason may also be a software error, but this happens extremely rarely and it will be necessary to take the radio to the service to fix it.
Before you start panicking, check several flash drives on the tape recorder and if they work, then the problem lies precisely in it. Write similar files to another USB flash drive, and if they work, then the problem is probably with it itself, and if not, write other files. Also, take a close look at which formats your tape recorder can read, because inexperienced people sometimes record music in Lossless (uncompressed) format instead of traditional MP3, and the latter is supported only by the most expensive models of tape recorders.
If you want to be 100% sure that the flash drive will work on the radio, use a maximum of 4 GB drives and carefully check the files, and also make sure that there are no Russian letters in the names, because some models incorrectly read files where there is Cyrillic in the name, but this rarely happens. The flash drive must be inserted and removed as carefully as possible so as not to damage both the contacts and the radio itself.
